Boiling up the bundles for eco-printing
Unwrapping a bundle- the exciting part
A steamed bundle ready to reveal its treasure
Eco-Printing: Out and about the hedgerows in Kells I gather leaves, ferns, berries and all the ephemera of the seasons. In Summer and Autumn I gather the leaves, and in Autumn gather Beech nuts, Chestnuts and berries. With these I make visual studies through painting and drawings, develop screen prints and make eco-prints and dyes for paper and fabrics.
